Kenneth Goodge - Director Since his early childhood Ken was interested in musical
theatre and music. But it was not until 2000 that he was finally able
to explore his passion for music and so the journey began. Ken started
singing lessons with Susan Ellis and joined the Yarralumla Singers for
Pleasure group. Since these early days Ken has performed in a number of
musical productions: Peter Pan (Alpha Theatre); Merry Widow, Die Fledermaus
and L' Enfant en les Sortilege's (Canberra School of Music); Fiddler on
the Roof, Les Misérables (Canberra Philharmonic Society), The Shakespeare
Project (ACT Singers). In the last five years Ken sang several lead roles:
Pish Tush in The Mikado (Canberra Philharmonic Society), Edwin in the
Trial by Jury and Marco Palmier in The Gondoliers(ACT Singers), Ralph
Rackstraw in HMS Pinafore and Frederick in The Pirates Of Penzance (Queanbeyan
Players). He also sang in the Melbourne Opera chorus in their Canberra
performances of LaTraviata, La Boheme and The Marriage of Figaro as part
of Canberra Opera Chorus.

Robyn Collins - Musical Director Robyn's music training began at age 9 when she began playing Clarinet in her school's band program. During her school years, she played with various community groups including Canberra Youth Orchestra Society and Canberra Youth Music. In 2000 she began lessons with Susan Ellis and completed her Bachelor of Music with honours in 2005. For ANU's George Limb Opera Company she has performed the roles of Jou-Jou (Lehar's Merry Widow), La Chatte Blanc and La Tasse Chinoise (Ravels L'Enfant et les Sortileges), Miss Silvertones (Mozart's The Impressario), Adele (J Strauss's Die Fledermaus), and Suor Genovieffa (Puccini's Suor Angelica). She has performed Gilbert and Sullivan with ACT Singers and Canberra Philharmonic Society including Yum-Yum (Mikado), Angelina (Trial by Jury) and Casilda (The Gondoliers). Last year she performed in her first musical; the role of Maria in West Side story for Canberra Philharmonic Society. Robyn first started conducting with the Calvary Hospital Choir and was able to explore music learning techniques and concepts using the wonderful hospital staff as unsuspecting 'guinea pigs'. She is excited to work with the dedicated singing students/hobbyists of ACT singers and to continue exploring her ideas.

MARIA CISNEROS - Accompanist Marias musical training started at age 6 in Caracas, Venezuela. She holds a Certificate in Music Education from CONAC, Caracas, Venezuela and graduated cum laude in Boston, Massachusetts, USA with a degree of Bachelor of Music, majoring in Piano.Maria has been teaching in primary and secondary schools for many years as well as at Music Conservatories.She has had a wide career as a solo performer and as an accompanist and has been the arranger and pianist of a number of childrens songs contained in six CDs.Maria has been living in Canberra since 2005 where she has been a Music teacher at various schools.She currently teaches Music at Orana School and at Jenny Wren Childcare Centre.Maria has welcomed the opportunity to accompany the ACT Singers in the preparation and performances of Sunday with Gilbert and Sullivan....Trial by Jury and other highlights. |
